Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy in Pace & Milton, FL

Your spine houses your spinal cord, a bundle of nerves that carries messages between the brain and the body. If these nerves are compressed or damaged, it can lead to pain, restricted range of motion, muscle weakness, and dysfunction throughout the body. The discs between each vertebra serve as shock absorbers for the spine, allow for flexibility, and create space for the nerves to exit the spinal cord and service the body. They have a tough, fibrous outer layer surrounding a soft, gel-like center. Due to wear and tear, these discs can start to wear out and even collapse, putting pressure on the adjacent nerves and causing pain, numbness and tingling, muscle weakness, loss of sensation, and other nerve dysfunction.

A bulging disc occurs when the disc’s outer layer weakens or becomes damaged. As a result, the disc protrudes or bulges outward, extending beyond its normal boundaries. The bulge may press against nearby nerves or spinal structures, potentially causing pain and other symptoms. If the outer layer becomes so weak that it tears, the gel-like center can seep out of the disc and apply direct pressure on the nerves. This is a disc herniation.

Treatment for disc injuries, like a disc bulge or herniation, can vary widely. The traditional medical approach to treating disc injuries involves drugs and surgery to remove damaged tissue. The chiropractic approach presents a much sought-after alternative. Chiropractic offers a natural, non-invasive approach to correcting musculoskeletal problems and optimizing the nervous system to function and heal better.

How Spinal Decompression Works

What exactly is spinal decompression, and why does it work so well for so many people around here?
Your spine is made up of discs that act both like a shock absorber and a spacer between the bones, much like shocks on a car. Over time, or after an injury, those discs can flatten out, bulge out, or even herniate. The bones of the spine (vertebrae) collapse down and lose space, which can put pressure on nerves. Suddenly you’ve got pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness that makes everyday life tough. Spinal decompression uses a specialized table that gently stretches your spine in a very precise, computer-controlled way. It creates negative pressure inside the disc, kind of like a vacuum. That pulls fluid and nutrients back in so the disc can rehydrate, reinflate, and start healing on its own. At the same time, it can actually help pull bulging material back where it belongs, taking the pressure off those irritated nerves.

How Our Care Plan Works

1. What, Why & Where

We start by getting a clear understanding of what you’re experiencing, where the problem is coming from, and why it’s happening. Through a detailed consultation and exam, we identify the root cause – not just the symptoms – so you can finally get answers and a path forward that makes sense for your body and your lifestyle.

2. Specific, Tailored Gameplan

No two patients are the same, which is why your care shouldn’t be either. Once we know what’s driving your pain or dysfunction, we build a personalized plan designed around your goals. This may include chiropractic care, corrective strategies, and supportive therapies to help your body heal, move better, and stay strong long-term.

3. Live A Pain Free Energetic Life

Our goal isn’t temporary relief – it’s helping you reclaim your health freedom. As your body stabilizes, many patients notice improved mobility, reduced pain, better sleep, and increased energy throughout the day. We’ll guide you step by step so you can get back to living life fully, confidently, and without being held back by discomfort.

What to Expect During a Spinal Decompression Therapy Treatment

Does Spinal Decompression Therapy hurt?
That’s the question we get asked the most. Not usually. We start off with a very conservative protocol, and much like lifting weights in the gym, we add pressure and repetition over time, the same way a bodybuilder builds up strength gradually. Most people actually say it feels really good, like a gentle stretch that finally gives your back some breathing room. We pair that with far and near infrared (3,000 nm to 1 mm, 700 nm to 1,400 nm) mats to help with inflammation and speed up healing via mitochondria enhancement (photobiomodulation).

You lie fully clothed on the table, the harness goes on, and the machine does the rest. A lot of people even fall asleep on the table! Sessions last just 10 to 15 minutes. You can hop right up afterward with zero downtime. A lot of patients even go straight from here to the grocery store or to pick up the kids from school.

How fast will you feel better? Everybody’s different, but here’s what we usually see. Some folks notice a difference after just a few visits — less pain, better movement, that “finally I can sleep through the night” feeling. Real lasting changes usually take 18 to 28 sessions, because we’re not just masking the problem; we’re giving your body time to actually heal the discs. We always start with a full exam and digital imaging so we can build a plan that’s custom to you. No cookie-cutter stuff.

Dr. Dustin L. Weber and our team combine this with the rest of what we do best: gentle chiropractic adjustments, SoftWave therapy for deeper tissue healing, and old-school hands-on care. It’s that perfect mix of big-city technology and small-town trust that makes Modern Chiropractic of Florida different.

They are amazing and always have a smile when you come in. Dr Weber is the best Chiropractor I have ever had and he treats everyone like they are a friend rather than a patient.

Frequently Asked Questions About Spinal Decompression in the Pace and Milton Area

Is this the same as traction I’ve tried before?

Not even close.
Old-school traction or inversion tables just pull on your spine (static traction). Our decompression table uses advanced sensors and specific computerized pull patterns that mimic the natural rehydration process the disc undergoes (imbibition) to target specific segments and create that vacuum effect inside the disc. This is much more effective than, say, an inversion table. Think of it like this: when you want to build your biceps, you both stretch the muscle (static) and add repetition (dynamic), which stimulates the body to build the muscle bigger and stronger than it was before. We’re doing the same thing here — stretching and strengthening the disc while rehydrating it and rehabbing the tissues around it (ligaments, tendons, joints). Added all up, this helps relieve pressure off the impinged nerves.

What if I’ve already had surgery?

We work with a lot of post-surgery patients who still have pain or new issues above or below the fusion, a condition called Adjacent Syndrome. Decompression is often a great option when other things haven’t fully worked.

Do I need a referral?

Nope. Just call us. Most people walk in on their own after hearing from a friend or neighbor who finally got relief.

How do I know if I’m a good candidate?

That’s what the exam is for — we test, not guess. We’re honest. If decompression isn’t the right fit, we’ll tell you and point you in a better direction (Dr. Weber knows all the best surgeons if the need arises). But for most folks with disc-related problems, it’s exactly what they’ve been looking for.

Can I keep working while I do the treatments?

Absolutely. Most patients schedule around their work and family life. Ten to fifteen minutes a few times a week fits into even the busiest schedule here in the Pace and Milton area.
